It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Lee McCarty of Charlotte, Texas, born in Longview, Texas, who passed away on July 18, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, Michael Lee shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Michael Lee farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Emory and Thelma Doris McCarty (Eidson). He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Dean Burton McCarty; his brother John McCarty (Ramona McCarty); and his children, Melissa Cameron, Jason Branch, Jeremy McCarty, Angela Gonzales, Rachel Weekly and Jonathan McCarty.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home (4608 Elysian Fields Rd, Marshall, TX 75672). A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Downs Funeral Home Chapel (4608 Elysian Fields Rd, Marshall, TX 75672). A burial was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at the Myrtle Spring Cemetery.
