He is survived by: his wife Sherrie Murphree; his children, Jennifer Sorenson of Austin, Heather Necessary (William) of China Spring, Ryan Murphree (Keri) of Crawford and Erin Brown (Adam) of Argyle; his grandchildren, Laren Murphree, Taylor Jaster, Tucker Sorenson, Lane Necessary, Colt Murphree, Trace Necessary, Cassidy Murphree and Barrett Brown; his great grandchildren, Presley Murphree and Peyton Barricklow; and his brother Charles Richard Murphree (Mary) of Valley Mills.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lake Shore Funeral Home & Crematory (5201 Steinbeck Bend Dr, Waco, TX 76708). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
