He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Byron Bishop King and Margaret Scott King; his daughter Alison (Joel Douglas Froneberger); and his grandson Jacob Field. He is survived by: his wife Sandra LaJuan King; his daughter Shannon Field (Wesley Field); and his grandsons, Steven Field, Gabriel Field, Michael Froneberger and Alex Froneberger.

His lifetime career publications made numerous contributions to these fields.
