He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucille Heckler and Lawrence Heckler; his parents-in-law, Ozettie and Vernon Bowman; and his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Bowman, Elmer L. Fulp, Sr., Serving, Adam Soto, Jace Soto, Julian Soto, Keith Krenek, Tyler Frost and Jacob Myatt.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Heckler of Cleburne; his children, Bronson Ray Heckler of Bedford and Robin Soto (Adam) of Cleburne; his brothers, Bill Heckler (Carolyn) of Little Elm and Larry Heckler (Christie) of Arlington; his grandchildren, Chole Heckler, Jace Soto, Julian Soto and Mia Soto; and his pet Max. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior.
