He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Gilbert and Leona May Stafford (Stout); his son Michael Robert Stafford; and his siblings, Thomas G. Stafford and Emily Mae Stafford.

He is survived by : his wife Carol Jean Stafford; his children, Joyce Stafford and Lynn Poulson (Scott); his grandchildren, Nikki, Josh, Shelbie, Blake, Gabbie, Gavin, Michael, Rowan and Megan; and his great grandchildren, Mason and Riverlyn.
