He is survived by: his wife Ginger Gatton; his children, Jordan Wylie-Gatton, Paul Waldron, Kristen Waldron and Brook (David Sisson); his grandchildren, Bayleigh, Kinleigh, Grayson, Hollee, Ashton, David Lee III, Khloe, Karli, Bentley, Nova and Codi; his father Jody Gatton (Rawan); his siblings, Brandi Carlson (Marcus Carlson) and Eric Gatton; Jesse Gatton, Shirley A. Smith, Durwood Smith and Kathy Mayer.
