She was predeceased by : her parents, Elma Biering and Paul Biering; her brothers, Dayton Biering (Dean) and Paul Biering; and her stepmother Eleanor Biering.

She is survived by : her daughter Paige Key; her son-in-law Bill Key; her child Erin Freshwater; her grandchildren, Ashlee Freshwater and Ryan Freshwater; and her great grandchildren, Emerson Droen and Porter Droen.

In place of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Greta Essner.
