He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Clarence Finstad and Jewel Blanche Sparks; his brother Jeff Finstad; his stepdaughter Dana Jorgenson (Martin Jorgenson II); and his brother-in-law Dan Ivey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jona Finstad and Darla Woods; his stepchildren, Mandy Ringo (Les) and Will MacKenzie; his sisters, Janey Ivey and Judy Johnson (Rudy); and his grandchildren, Will Hubbard (Tori), Tiffany Finstad, Nathan Ringo (Chelsie), Alex Ringo, Jason Ringo, Kelsey Ringo and Hunter Ringo.
Memorials may be made to the Bosque County Child Welfare Board.
