He was predeceased by: his parents, Kelly Eugene Smith and Mary Elizabeth "Wheeler" Smith; and his grandchildren, Tylan and Raven Stephenson. He is survived by: his wife Kim Smith of Clyde, Texas; his sister Norma Jeanne Peck of Krum, Texas; his children, Mary Irons (Brandon) of Ponder, April Harris of Clyde, Chad Perkins (Angela) of Abilene, Shane Perkins (Brittney) of Abilene, Raylynn Nair (Bobby) of Welch and Ray Stephenson of Fairland, Oklahoma; and his grandchildren, Kade, Kinley Irons, Austin (Jenna), Colton Perkins, Mason Gavin, Jaxon Harris (Carissa), Ryan Elskamp, Braelynn Harris, Garret, Aranda Nair, Hunter and Jonas Stephenson. He is also survived by Two great-grandchildren; his beloved dogs.
