He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan Hammonds and Iva Wesson Hammonds; his former spouse Jettie Beard of Virginia; his daughter Pamela June Hammonds Baker; and his sisters, Pat Kutzer, Iva Dell Elkins and Virginia Gandy.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Hammonds of Coleman; his children, Michelle Allcorn (Jimmy Don) of Coleman, Terrie Eldred (George) of Coleman, Judy Caldwell (Mike) of Coleman and Johnnie Cecil Midddleton, III of Abilene; and his siblings, Danny Hammonds (Teresa) of Coleman, David Hammonds (Rosie) of Colorado, James Hammonds (Judy Gail) of Coleman and Judy Rylee of Dallas. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and so many friends.
