He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Genzer and Anna Chumchal Genzer; his siblings, Joseph Genzer and Annie Hanzelka; his former wife Warrene Malek Genzer; and his stepdaughter Rhonda Thumann Pesak.
He is survived by: his wife Rose Marie Thumann; his stepchildren, Dorraine (Richard Petras II) and Leonard Jr. (Denise Thumann); and his stepgrandchildren, Richard Petras III, Katherine Fruit, Julia Bean, Michael Petras, Leo Thumann, Christian Thumann, Edward Pesak, Emilie Pesak and Ericka Pesak.
