We bid farewell to Flora Thornton (Comanche, Texas), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 6, 2025 at the age of 84. Flora touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, George C. Kendrick and Jessie Jewel Kendrick (Fox); her siblings, George, Sam, Jimmy, Dixie, Betty and Ruby; and her daughter-in-law Anita Thornton (Shawna).
She is survived by: her children, Rodney Thornton (Kimberly) of Millington, TN, Arleta Gillette (Russell) of Comanche, TX, Kevin Thornton (Mary) of Burnet, TX, Darren Thornton (Jaque) of Granite Shoals, TX and Karen Rogers (John) of Llano, TX; and her sister Shirley Bowman (Larry) of Bangs, TX. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made in memory of Flora to the Salvation Army P.O. Box 783 Comanche, Texas 76442.
