He was predeceased by : his parents, Fidel Tovar and Ramona Leija; and his sister Sofia Tovar Leija. He is survived by : his children, Ramona Tovar Briones, Ivan Tovar Briones and Yahir Tovar Briones (Maria L. Briones) of Tovar; and his siblings, Jose Tovar Leija, Josefina Tovar Leija, Ofelia Tovar Leija, Juana Tovar Leija, Pablo Tovar Leija, Celso Tovar Leija, Santiago Tovar Leija and Alvina Tovar Leija.
