With sadness, we share the passing of Marie Yazell (Gilmer, Texas). Marie, born on July 31, 1930, passed away on September 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe C. Anderson and Jewel Anderson (Ellis); her husband Tex Richard Yazell; her son Ronald Yazell; and her siblings, Joe D., Guy Anderson and Cleta Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Jill Yazell Hudson (Martin), Richard Yazell (Diane), Jay Yazell (Patty) and Jan Yazell Wilkerson; her siblings, Reba Judy Means and Willie Anderson; her grandchildren, Brannon Yazell, Brandilyn Moore, Wesley Yazell, Jennifer Broadrick, Joshua Yazell, Kayla Hefner, Perry Yazell, Tex Yazell, Leslie Hudson, Brooke Wilkerson Meyer, Caroline Wilkerson Garcia, Logan Wilkerson, Sawyer Wilkerson, Breaze Yazell, Hailey Yazell, Robert Pace and Joshua Hudson; and her caregiver Lola Nelms. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the McWhorter Funeral Home (1074 TX-300, Gilmer, TX 75645). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Newburg Cemetery (11450 Fm 1476, Comanche, TX 76442).
Because of her deep love for her church community, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to First Baptist Church, Gilmer, Texas.
