He is survived by: his wife Beatris Avila Carlos; and his children, Maria Guadalupe Espinoza (Jose), Rafael Carlos (Karen), Anita Rivas (Angel), Elvira Chavarria (Sergio), Isaias Carlos (Belinda) and Hermelinda Munoz (Santos).
