He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert Lawson and Etta Lawson (Meadows); his wife Virginia Lee Lawson; his daughter-in-law Linda Ann Lawson; and his siblings, Norman Lawson and Olgie Lawson.

He is survived by: his sons, Kevin Lawson (Berta) of The Woodlands and Donald Lawson (Linda) of Conroe, Texas.; his brothers, Robert Lawson (Sandy) of Valparaiso and Raymond Lawson (Sharon) of Fisher, Indiana.; his grandchildren, Argin Taylor (Ryan), Sarah Lawson-Baney (Derek), Jonathan Lawson (Caitlin), Curtis Lawson, Brianna Lawson, Marsaias Urban (Kenny) and Chaille Romero (Jon); his great grandchildren, Micah, Domanic, Analeyse, Daniel, Maverick, Kingston, Rohen, Leighton and Ethan; and his close friend Wanda Wise of Montgomery, Texas.. He is also survived by Numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to Kids Alive International or Crossroads Baptist Church.
