She is survived by: her daughter Claudette James; her son-in-law Abraham James; her siblings, Ollie Plummer, Versie Arceneaux, Helen Perry, Calvin Ceaser and Chad Ceaser; and her brothers-in-law, John Richard, Sr. (Priscilla) and LeRoy Perry (Helen). She is also survived by nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Catherine's most recent job was through AARP as a teacher's aide at a Christian day-care center before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
