He was predeceased by : his parents, Francis Fjerstad and Marion Fjerstad (Nyhus); his son Brandon Fjerstad; and his siblings, Leroy Fjerstad, David Fjerstad, Patricia "Patty" Fjerstad, Diane Fjerstad, Carolyn "Nippy" Knutson (Alfred) and Cheryl.
He is survived by : his wife Gretchen of Conroe, TX; his children, Shane Fjerstad (Chi Nguyen) of Bemidji, MN and Shelby "Berty" Fjerstad of Conroe, TX; his grandchildren, Aksel Fjerstad and Magnus Fjerstad of Bemidji, MN; his siblings, Susan Sherette (Chuck), Sandra Salvhus (Dave) of McIntosh, Terry Myhre (Jamie Brown) of Walker, Debbie Fjerstad and Kristine Olson (Marvin) of Warroad; and his former life partner Lorraine Fjerstad of Lengby, MN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
