He was also cherished by 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

“So sorry you are missing your Father. George was a kind, friendly, "gentle man" and also a real "gentleman", who loved to sit in his chair and chat with neighbors. Loved his stories, he always spoke of his dear wife and family and although dealing with health issues he always had a smile on his face. I only found out after he passed, and wish I had been able to speak to Laurie and the others . Take comfort in the fact that yall made him a happy and proud man. God wrap his arms around you all and give you comfort!”
