He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Thomas Yoars and Betty Lou Yoars (Jones); and his siblings, Jerry Yoars and Julia. He is survived by: his wife Irene Yoars; his son John (JP) Yoars (Susan); his grandchildren, Jarred, Christopher (Kallie) and Rhys; his daughter Melissa Schrock (Kenny); his grandchildren, Meredith, Erin and Nolan; his stepson Scott Richeson (Kim); his stepgrandchildren, Cole and Kylie; and his siblings, Jim Yoars (Cheryl), Jill (Kevin) and Ethington. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Red Cross or to the Lustgarten Foundation.
