He was predeceased by: his siblings, Jessi Gay Stumpner, Evelyn Whitten, Ella May Pounds, Alvin Whitten and James Marshall Whitten.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Whitten (Linda) and Vernon Whitten (Jenny); his grandchildren, Cori Cavazos, Jessica Sliter (Nathan), Miranda Turner (Zach), Sarah Hirsh (Allyn), Dr. Rachel Whitten, Emily Whitten, Hannah Ferrari, Robert Whitten and Jason Whitten (Cassie); his sister Elaine Hines; and his friends, Larry, Becky Ermis, Robyn, Chad Jones, Bryan, Lori Ermis, Laura, Sam Luxton, Joann and Leonard Partida. He is also survived by 11 great- grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
