He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Klimek and Emma Godaly; his wife Joan Hirko; his son David; and his sister Bea.

He is survived by: his children, Joe Klimek (Jane) and Sharon Stevens (Thom); his grandchildren, Sarah (Brendon), Daniel (Betsy), Kelly (John) and Jenna (Michael); his niece Eileen; and his nephew Nick. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
