He was predeceased by: his son Mark Sims (Cherri) of Plano; his parents, Joe Sims of Odessa and Ela Martin of Ranger; his brothers, Maurice Sims and Sylvestia Sims (Annie) of Odessa; and his granddaughter Starla McWilliams.

He is survived by: his wife Lisa Sims; his children, Moquin Sims Jr. (Sharon) of Porter, Mike Sims (Terri) of Montgomery, Cindy Sims Parker (Billy) of The Woodlands and Pam Sims Williams (Larry) of McKinney, Texas.; and his grandchildren, Scott Grey, Sony Graves, Brian Sims, Michael Erwin, Kari Zella (Scott), Mark Erwin, Sherry Taber, Marty Sims, Kami Ellis, Shannon Harris, Shara Putska, Michael Sims, Cody Sims, Becca Miller, Tricia Tate, Ashlee Smith, Aaron Williams, Caleb Williams and Lauren Durbin. He is also survived by his many great grandchildren.
