She was predeceased by: her parents, Aloysius August Berend and Mathilda Michalek Berend; her son Philip Broach; and her siblings, Leonard Berend, Christine Schon, Virgil Berend and Leona Mikusek.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Broach; her children, David Broach (Liz), Karen Brown (Ritchie), Kenneth Broach (Deborah) and Amy Broach; and her grandchildren, Duncan (Lindsea), Mason, Emily and Matthew Broach.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Joseph's Retirement Village (1201 E Sandy Lake Rd, Coppell, TX 75019).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Bertha's name to Catholic Charities of Dallas or Visiting Nurses Association Meals on Wheels.
