He was predeceased by: his parent Luna Lee Roper; his grandmother Artie Hunt; his mother Violet Lowrence (Hunt); his siblings, Wallace Neil Roper and Jimmie Janette Roland (Roper); and his grandson Mark Elliot McCarther.
He is survived by: his wife Elena Beth Roper (Harrington); his daughters, Cynthia Sue Roper of Abilene, Texas and Debra Lee McCarther (Roper); his son-in-law Robert McCarther of Lampasas, Texas; his grandchildren, Malorie Beth Arellano (Adam Arellano) of Lampasas, Texas and Eric McCarther of Lampasas; and his great grandchildren, Emma Beth Callihan (Zachary Callihan), Marley Brynn Arellano, Harley Quinn Arellano, Silas James Arellano and Avril Marie McCarther.
Viewing was held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Sayre Church of Christ (502 N 6th St, Sayre, OK 73662). A burial was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lone Oak Cemetery (18100 E 1170 Rd, Sayre, OK 73662).
