He was predeceased by: his son Christopher Gomez; his parents, Juanito Gomez and Sara Gomez; his close friends, Ralph Benavidez, Raul Benavidez and Eddie Benavidez; his sisters-in-law, Raquel B. Amaya and Irma B. Sanchez; and his pets, Miller and Sandy.
He is survived by: his wife Santos B. Gomez; his siblings, Rosie Torrez (Ben), Gloria Martinez (Ruben), Linda Holub (Jeff), Ruben Gomez (Elaine) and Thomas Gomez; his children, David Gomez, Jr. (Brenda) and Veronica Gomez; his stepsons, Ramon Salinas, III, Jeffrey Salinas and Daniel Flores; his siblings-in-law, Emilio Amaya, Henry Sanchez, Hipolito Benavidez (Gloria), Valentine Benavidez (Trudy), Martin Benavidez (Elsa), Steve Benavidez, Larry Benavidez (Dalia), Zulema Benavidez, Chong Benavidez, Ida Escatiola and Irma Garza; and his pets, Mariah and George. He is also survived by his four grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; three great-step grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
