He was predeceased by: his father Louis H. Casarez Jr.; his uncle Charles E. Casarez; and his mother-in-law Margarita Aurora Meave. He is survived by: his mother Angelita Casarez; his wife Mary; his sisters, Norma Acock (Al) and Mary De La Garza (Augustine); his children, John D. Casarez Jr. (Valerie), Louis A. Casarez and Vanessa Montez; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Ryan, Paul John, Jaden, Emily, John Michael and Isaiah; his stepchildren, Mary Ann Lytle (William), Melissa Lopez (Jonathan), Alexander Meave and Amanda Meave; and his pets, Popcorn and Sandy. He is also survived by numerous extended family including nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.
