She was predeceased by: her parents, Myrelle Rosalie Book (Schmoker) and James Anderson Book; and her sister Nancy Elizabeth Loffelmacher. She is survived by: her brother James Antony Book (Tony); her children, Elizabeth Myrelle Hartman (Beth), James Vernon Thomas (Jim) and David Jarrell; and her caregiver Stephanie Silva. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Grace United Methodist Church (14521 Northwest Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX 78410). She was no longer able to engage in these activities when Covid hit, so she decided to sell her house and move in with her daughter to Corpus Christi.
