He was predeceased by: his parents, Josefina Rosales and Oliver Cantu Sr. Mr (Cantu); his siblings, Maria Lou "Vicky" Cantu, Diana Cantu, Judy Cantu Campos and Oliver Cantu Jr.; his great-uncle Vicente Gamez; and the mother of his child Julia Cantu.

He is survived by: his daughters, Mona Lisa Cantu-Zamora (Juan Zamora) and Jessica Cantu Arredondo (Carlos Arredondo); his stepdaughter Patricia Zuniga (Omar Zuniga); the mother of his child Elisa Rodriguez; and his siblings, Eddie R. Cantu and Zelda "Penny" Williams. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Peters Funeral Home (500 N Main St, Cotulla, TX 78014). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (307 S Main St, Cotulla, TX 78014).
