Barbara Hughes Obituary

With solemn reverence, we commemorate Barbara Hughes of Crosby, Texas, born in El Dorado, Arkansas, whose life came to an end on March 31, 2026 at the age of 76, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Barbara may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Barker and Melba Ansley Barker; and her siblings, Margaret Anne Okruhlik and Jay Barker. She is survived by: her husband David Hughes of Crosby, Texas; her daughters, Andrea Hughes Freitas of Atascocita and Brandi Hughes of Crosby, Texas; and her son-in-law Karl Freitas of Atascocita, Texas. She is also survived by her four grandchildren; and her great-granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Janie's memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at t2t.org.
