He was predeceased by: his parents, David T. "D. T." Rains and Mattie Mae "Pat" Rains; his brother Stanley Rains (Robbie "Bobbie" Rains); and his children, Mike Rains and Tonya Coronado.
He is survived by: his siblings, Jim Rains, Janene Thweatt and Joe Rains; and his children, Kelli Gardner, Angel Haver, Roger Triche, Andria Pagel and Lannie Triche. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren and many other family members.
