He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Calame and Joycelyn Calame (Heiman). He is survived by: his wife Diane Dewitt of Crowell; his children, Billy Connell of China Springs, Texas and Amber Dewitt of Crowell; his siblings, John Calame of Wortham, Doug Calame of Mason, Texas and Cheryl Calame of College Station, Texas; and his grandchildren, Taylor Connell and Jessica Connell.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
