He is survived by: his wife Joy Whitehead of Cuero, Texas; his children, Jeannie Nicole "Nikki" Dobbs of Dayton, Janet Whitehead of Corpus Christi, Jayla Whitehead of Cuero, Texas, Jamie Whitehead of Cuero and Johnny Whitehead of Cuero, Texas; and his sisters, Sarah Strange of Pasadena, Edna Saltsman of Pasadena and Ernestine Teboe (Dennis) of Conroe, Texas. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
