He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin J. W. Cordes and Ruth Kutzer Cordes; his sister Dorothy Schulte; and his brother-in-law Marvin "Sonny" Schulte. He is survived by: his wife Anita Janak Cordes; his children, Darrell Cordes (Stacy), John Cordes (Loretta), James Cordes (Lumi) and Carmen Kenner (Jack); his grandchildren, Marvin Cordes, Michael Cordes, Jacob Kenner, Caleb Kenner, Camille Kenner McMahon (Nicholas) and Ema Cordes; and his siblings, Bobbie Nack (Charlie) and William "Bill" Cordes. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
