She was predeceased by: her parents, Warren Giles and Julious E. Giles; and her siblings, Leona, Lillian, Sammie, Cary, Londee, Gravely, Eulaliah and Lellious (Poncho).
She is survived by: her husband Otward Brown, Jr.; her children, Valerie Gerard Brown, Gavilyn Varcelli Jones and Glitheria Vernaye Cruz; her grandchildren, Gavarae Vashada Dokun (Tunde) and Gaylon Morgan Jones III; her great grandchildren, Devion, Avery, Maiya, Imani, Grayson and Sanaa; her brother Pressley Giles; and her pets, Percy, Daisy, Rosie and Buns.
She told the Cuero Educational Foundation Committee when she retired from volunteering that "she didn't want to stay at the Fair too long".
