He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Agness Elizabeth Gibbs and Richard Love Sr.; his wife Addie Lee Love; and his siblings, Margree King, Ermalee Love, Richard "Sonny" Love Jr., Joel Love, Sidney Love and Eugene Love.

He is survived by: his children, Barbra J. Griffin, Terry D. Love, Robert Love Jr. (Helen), Wayne W. Love (Merdie), Charles A. Love (Dianne), Christopher E. Love (Janice), John F. Love (Sillita "Lita"), L. Stacy Love (Sherri) and Lawrence T. Love (Lisa); his sister Beula Campbell; and his granddaughter Tasha Goodlow (Juan). He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren.
