He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles "Charlie" Forrest and Lucretia "Crickett" Wright Forrest; his wife Diane Simpson; and his brother-in-law George Spann. He is survived by: his cousin Tom; his son Yancy Forrest; his sister Pamela Spann of Daingerfield; his nieces, Jennifer Parks of Austin, Karen Ostergaard of Asheville, NC and Sydney Spann of Austin; his nephew Henry Harris of Burlington, VT; and his great-nieces, Greta Ostergaard and Charlie Parks.
