She was predeceased by: her parents, Pearl Hicks Fort and Willie Fort; and her siblings, Elze "Bo" Fort, James Fort, Lee Otis Fort, Ollie May Fort and Thelma McClarron.
She is survived by: her husband Earlie Ray Smith of Waldo; her daughters, Doris Smith of Dallas, TX, Belvolyn Smith of Round Rock, TX and Pearlene "Sue" Scales; her aunts and uncles, Pearlene "Sue" Scales, Belvolyn Smith of Round Rock, TX and Doris Smith of Dallas, TX; her son Allen Dexter Smith of DeSoto, TX; her grandson Allen "AJ" Dexter Smith II; her great grandchild Kyson "Kydie" Dexter Woods of Cedar Hill, TX.; her sisters, Dorothy Nell Willingham of DeSoto, TX and Martha Jean Hollins (Lindsey) of Cibolo, Texas; and her sisters-in-law, Dale Marie Criner of Dallas, TX, Daisy Curry of McNeil, AR and Pearl Sutton of Inglewood, CA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Laurel Land Funeral Home (6300 S R L Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75232). A wake was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Laurel Land Memorial Park (6300 S R L Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75232). A repast was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Camp Wisdom United Methodist Church (1300 W Camp Wisdom Rd, Dallas, TX 75232).
