He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur D. Pierce and Eva Mae Patterson; and his brother Truman Lee Boyd. He is survived by: his wife Frances; and his daughters, Belinda Lynn Benson (Robert) and Randi Renee Smith (Steve). He is also survived by five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Restland Abbey Chapel (13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Restland Cemetery (13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243).
