He is survived by: his wife Ida Bell Nelson; his children, Catron Scott and Rosalyn Nelson; his siblings, Betty Phillips, Peggy Jackson (Charles), Leon Nelson (Betty), Howard Nelson (Margaret) and Mary Alice Nelson; and his grandchildren, Cheryl Scott, Catron Scott, Nick Crenshaw, Trinity Crenshaw, Nicholas Crenshaw, Christian Crenshaw, Micah Crenshaw, Shaneika Frazier, Elijah Phillips, Theresa Phillips, Elaine Nelson, Alexis Stephenson, Jasmine Stephenson, Denard Nelson, Peter Alford, Monigue Nelson, Sonya Nelson Pickens (Keith) and Daneshu Nelson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
