He was predeceased by: his parents, John Quincy Simmonds and Nellie Hazel Davis Simmonds; his wife Carolyn Salter Simmonds; and his siblings, Winston Alton Simmonds and Quincy Nell Simmonds Crawford.
He is survived by: his former spouse Daris Frost Simmonds; his children, Dirk Simmonds (Jung Tung Cheng), Janet Hahn (Glen) and Candy Tibbs; his grandsons, Dawson Simmonds and Lewis Simmonds (Kelli); and his caregivers, Sheba Carter and Virginia "Gini" Crawford.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211).
