It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darthell Simmons (Dallas, Texas), who passed away on May 23, 2026, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elihu Henry (Stella V. Henry) and Stella V. Henry; her husband G. L. Simmons; her children, Juanita Simmons and Gary Simmons; her grandchildren, Wade Henry Simmons Jr. and Francesca Simmons; her great grandchild Miracle Henry; her children-in-law, Charlotte Simmons and Will Kelley; and her siblings, Paul, Delano, Ronnie, Reggie, Ethan, Billie Henry, Una V. and Joyce.
She is survived by: her children, Arelia, Wade, Willie, Doris, Doland (Elisabeth), Michael (Leticia) and Kerry; her son-in-law Earl Battles; and her siblings, Clyde Henry, Gary Henry and Barbara Brackens. She is also survived by 36 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren, and 66 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended relatives.
