He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd "Bud" Newton Evans, Jr. and Bernice Geneva Flores; his siblings, Lynda Sue Mathis and Gary Evans; and his wife Julie Evans.
He is survived by: his daughters, Dabney P. Evans and Rachel Evans Salgado; his sons-in-law, Alvaro Garriga and Brandon Salgado; his grandchildren, Evan of Lima, Lewis Salgado, Julianna Salgado and Eva Salgado; and his siblings, Andrew Evans (Marilyn), Paul Evans (Jan), Dennis Evans (Carol), Michael Evans (Peggy), Mary Golden (Roger), Rebecca "Becky" Evans, Theresa Griffiths (Derek), Patricia Koch (Michael), John Evans (Lora) and Angela "Angie" Morrison (John). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Joseph's Catholic Church (305 Jefferson St, Mansfield, LA 71052). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery (1017 LA-346, Pelican, LA 71063).
As a heart transplant recipient, Jeffrey carried a profound gratitude for the gift he received through organ donation with special gratitude for the generosity of his donor and the donor's family, and his medical care team at Baylor University Medical Center.
