He is survived by: his wife Griselda Carrillo; his children, Mario Jr., James, Angel and Cecilia D.; his siblings, Robert Escobedo, Dora Martinez, Olga Vela and Vivianna Guedea; his grandchildren, Rosemary, James Jr., Sergio, Jenevaeh, Samuel, Lucia, Mario III, Jayden, Aracelii, Makayla and Angel Jr.; and his pet Chewy.

Visitation was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Troy Suggs Funeral Home (7623 Military Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75227). A prayer was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location.
