He was predeceased by: his parents, John Daniel "Dan" Harris and Iona Hall Harris; his uncle Roy Harris; his brother William Lee Harris; his stepfather-in-law Floyd Hamilton; his parents-in-law, Earnestine Hamilton and Jim Caudle; his stepmother-in-law Margaret Caudle; and his brother-in-law Jimmy Allen Caudle.
He is survived by: his wife Janie Harris of Mesquite, Texas; his sons, Brad Harris of Mesquite, Texas. and Matthew Harris of Mesquite, Texas.; his nieces, Lisa Lee and Kaci Johnson (Clint); his great-nephews, Casey Lee, Blaze and Trace Johnson; and his great-niece Jessica Pearson.
