He was predeceased by: his son James Ray Solomon, Jr.; his sister Rebecca Lakin; and his stepfather Ward "Smokey" Owens. He is survived by: his wife Sherron Truelove Solomon; his daughters, Sandy Watts, Trixie Campbell (Christopher), Tina Solomon and Shawn Trull; and his siblings, Carolyn Eixman, Debbie Pendergraff and Billy Ray Solomon. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
