He was predeceased by: his parents, Vance (Lois Hughes Giddens) and Baytown; his children, Deborah Nugent and Doug Nugent; his sister Barbara Ray; his father-in-law Ralph McNeil; and his son-in-law Kevin Glenn.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Tanner Giddens; his children, Tray Giddens, Tracy Glenn and Michaela Phelan (William); and his grandchildren, Liberty "Libby" Vandenheuvel, Ryan Nugent, Haley Nugent, Haden Nugent, James Grorich, Benjamin Grorich, Jace Phelan and Vanessa Phelan. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at 5232 East Fwy, Baytown, TX 77521.
