“I am so sorry to hear about this news. She was such a fun, loving , enthusiastic, & energetic presence for the years I knew her. She helped me get recommendation letters for sorority rush, bought me two casseroles for college to take back with me when I came into town and convinced my papaw ( Bill) to take me shopping for some new clothes prior to college- a big deal. These gestures showed how caring and loving she was towards those who weren’t her own. She was truly the kindest person I knew.”

“I was saddened to hear of Iris passing. She was truly an amazing and thoughtful person. I will always cherish the memory of the time she bought me a peony plant for my birthday while visiting with my dad, Bill Harris, after I mentioned it was my favorite flower. She even helped me choose the perfect spot in my front yard to plant it. Every May, around my birthday, it blooms with more than 50 gorgeous pink flowers—a reminder of her kindness and generosity. I always think of her when I see them,”
