He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Jesus Hernandez and Vicenta Hernandez (Solis); his wife Gabriela Chavez of Decatur; his children, Francisco Hernandez of Decatur, Eva Hernandez of Midlothian, Claudia Campos (Miguel Angel Gonzales) of Decatur, Betty Hernandez (Salvador Perez) of Dallas, Minerva Hernandez of Fort Worth, Delma Martinez (Jose) of Decatur and Gabby Terrell (Tyler) of Denton; and his sisters, Aurelia Escobedo, Carmen Hernandez and Eduvijen Hernandez.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hawkins Funeral Home - Decatur (405 E Main St, Decatur, TX 76234-1513). A rosary was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Blessed Virgin Mary Church (1305 S Deer Park Rd, Decatur, TX 76234).
