He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm Lee Stakes and Josie Mary Stubbs; his grandmother Evie Hornsby Stakes; his stepfather Roy Stubbs; and his brother Daryl Wayne Stubbs.

He is survived by: his wife Daphné Jean Stakes; his daughters, Dawnette (Douglas Harris) and Tammara (Nathan Golden); his grandchildren, Morghan and Michael Kroesche; his great grandchildren, Nathan, Boston, Arthur, Elowyn and Marlow; and his siblings, Linda (Tony Tipton) and Duane Stubbs. He is also survived by 4 nieces.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Baptist Church in Alan's honor.
